Full Story
Lara travels to the Iran to retrieve the Necklace of Sharaham. Once she has it in her possession, she tries to flee the armed forces chasing her, hiding underneath a long coat with veil. Unfortunately her pick up helicopter arrives a little too late to stop her from being discovered. They try to take the artefact she is wearing around her neck from her, but Lara defends herself with her guns. To get away she commanders a jeep, holding the driver at gunpoint. She forces him to drive straight towards the cliff. At the last moment she jumps off to grab the rope extended from her rescue helicopter, which is piloted by the Croft family's bodyguard Hartford Compton.
After returning the artefact to the Israel, Lara is taking a little time off, relaxing on her yacht in the Mediterranean. But it is only a short rest, as her next business meeting with Paris D'Arseine is already scheduled. After D'Arseine insults Compton and Lara's father and she threatens him that she will put his walking stick "where neither the best treasure hunter, or proctologist can find it", they get down to business, and D'Arseine tells Lara that he wants her to find the Medusa Mask for him.
The mask was last seen in 1505, when its owner of the time carried it on a Spanish galleon. A violent storm sank the ship in the Atlantic on its way to the Americas. The final resting place of the galleon was recently found.
After they agree on the payment, D'Arseine gives Lara the details where the wreck sank and the mask was found and stolen.
When the arrive at the wreck - which, as Lara says, sank four hundred miles south of its reported course - Lara leaves the yacht in her diving gear, leaving Compton behind to monitor her progress. It takes Lara a while to find the wreck. She finally enters the wreck to examine the spot where the mask was found, grabbing an item left behind by the previous visitor. She is unaware, that a group of mercenaries has arrived to cause trouble. They cut her air supply and destroy her yacht with a bomb.
