Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have prepared a special side game titled Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light before the release of Tomb Raider 9. It it released as downloadable title for Xbox 360 (August 18th via Marketplace), PS3 (September 28th via PSN) and PC (September 28th via Steam).

In April 2006 Crystal Dynamics took over from Core Design by releasing Tomb Raider Legend. In June 2007 they added Tomb Raider Anniversary, a remake of the original Tomb Raider to their portfolio. Both games were received well by fans and critics. In November 2008 Tomb Raider Underworld followed.

The Tomb Raider Universe has a lot more to offer besides the Tomb Raider Games. In December 1997 Lara Croft had her first appearance as comic hero, in a Tomb Raider/Witchblade Crossover. At the end of 2000 a Level Editor was released along with the game Tomb Raider Chronicles. It became a big hit with the fans and is still in use today with over 2000 Custom Levels available for download. In 2001 the first movie with Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft hit cinemas. In December 2003 the first official Tomb Raider Novel followed, expanding the already existing list of Tomb Raider Books.

  • Complex Simplicity 2010
The level building contest Complex Simplicity utilizes the Next Generation Level Editor. Like with the "Back to Basics" contest builders are given a basic wad and texture file with which they can then create their level. The contests motto is "Castle". Sign-up for Level Builders has begun March 1st 2009. The Contest ends in June, giving the builders 4 months time. Learn more.

As you may see, there are still many gaps to fill. That's only natural as the Tomb Raider universe is huge, and not one person knows everything. If you have special knowledge of one of the Tomb Raider areas (e.g. Level Building, Comics...) you are more than welcome to help making this an all-round Tomb Raider compendium.

To help you can either create missing articles (please make sure it does not exist under another name), expand stubs (very short articles) or you just browse through the wiki and edit/add as you go along. In the help section you can find a number of open tasks under "For Editing".


Normally a Wiki is designed so that everybody can add/edit/delete articles, unfortunately a huge number of spammers forced us to lock it down and only allow registered users to edit. So to be able to contribute, you have to register. As this is a completely different database, you won't be able to use your forum or trg account. It will only take a few seconds to register.
