Enemy Type Boss
Classification Demon, Giant
Distinctiveness can turn Lara into ice
Weapons Ice Balls

The Oni Demon is a giant Boss in the Mountain Pass levels of Lara Croft: Relic Run. It is far more dangerous than the Giant Ice Spiders that Lara sometimes encounters in these levels.

The Oni Demons are mostly light blue as they seem to be made out of ice. Their head looks more like an animal's head (lion?), with horns and big canines in the upper and lower jaws of its snout. It is somewhat furry beneath it's armour.

There is also a variant of the Oni Demon that is wearing red armour instead of blue. It's abilities are the same as the regular blue one's, though.

Lara encounters the Oni Demon for the first time in level 111 of Lara Croft: Relic Run, which is is 31st Level of the Mountain Pass region. After that it frequently pops up in the Mountain Pass levels.

Oni Demons have a wide variety of attacks: They can throw huge balls of ice at Lara, they can throw icicles in Lara's path, which she then has to avoid by ducking under them or evading to the side, and finally they can conjure up ice balls that turn Lara to ice when she is hit. This last attack can only be stopped by shooting at the demon's head when the round red bull's eye appears. Also, they have the ability to disappear and reappear some way further down the path, which makes aiming a lot harder.

The Oni Demons, like the other bosses in Relic Run (T-Rex, Manticore), are a formidable enemy. Choosing a powerful secondary weapon is preferred. Their disappearing-power makes aiming somewhat difficult, though.

Avoiding the icicles the Demons can conjure up in Lara's path is essential for success, as well as not getting hit by the ice blast that turns Lara into ice.

Similar Enemies

The Oni from Tomb Raider (2013) are somewhat similar, but Lara does not have to fight them and they are not made out of ice.
