The Underworld is a place in legends of many different cultures where it is said the souls of dead people go. The underworld plays an important role in the eight instalment of the Tomb Raider series, Tomb Raider Underworld.

In Mayan culture this place is called Xibalba, while in Norse mythology one of its names is Helheim. Jacqueline Natla tells Lara that even Avalon is the same place.
