Alister

Alister Fletcher (often misspelled: Alastair or Alistair) is an eccentric archaeologist and conspiracy theorist who is one of Lara's supporters back home. He has his first appearance in Tomb Raider Legend and returns in Tomb Raider Underworld.

He is first heard along with Zip in the beginning of the Bolivia level. He and Zip talk to Lara over the headset. He has just come back from a trip to Genoa, in Italy. He had originally intended to travel to Florence. Alister often sounds nervous and does not approve of Lara's more daring antics up to the point of saying that she sometimes frightens him. While he is often in contact with Lara, Alister is not heard for the first half of the Ghana level, during which he is researching on the origin of the sword fragments. Amanda Evert also cuts their communication. Alister can often be heard bickering with Zip, to whom he provides a foil.

Alister is Lara's research assistant, providing another mind filled with arcane historical information, someone to bounce ideas off of, and provide quick additional research, while Lara's in the field. He's in this to test his theories, uncover secrets no one else can, and because it's the only place his eccentric knowledge is useful. Alister is tense and prickly, and takes himself much too seriously.

Tomb Raider Underworld

Alister will be coming back in Tomb Raider Underworld as one of the characters.

In one of the trailers, he is seen helping Zip carry a box down a flight of stairs - the same scene showing Lara with a flashlight. In another he appears on Lara's laptop on her Yacht in Thailand in a video chat with Zip. There he says "I'd hate to be Amanda if Natla ever gets free" to which Zip replies "I'd hate to be any of us". In a video showing the first ten minutes of the game, Alister, Zip, and Lara are in a video chat (as seen in the image) and Alister is being a bit negative about the status of Lara's mother. He says,"It's just...all right, maybe Avalon is real, but just because some mad woman tells you your mother didn't die after all...I mean, look...I, I don't want to seem heartless, but this, this idea of your mum living in some Celtic underworld...it's a, it's a bit mental, isn't it?". But Lara still has faith and says that she just wants the truth, whatever it may be.

Alister looks very different than in Legend, but his outfit looks a little the same.
