Story

Main article: Tomb Raider II Story

Lara has reached an Opera House during her search for Bartoli.

End Cutscene

Lara boards a plane and starts to look through the crates. She hears some voices and starts to eavesdrop a conversation going on in the cockpit. A male voice says: "It's not the workload that is worrying me. Perhaps the tide has gulped it away.... Perhaps Gianni had never.... I don't know.... It's just his grave has surrendered nothing, like we say, 'substantial'. It's all very interesting. Oh yes, I'm sure of it -— believe me -— but it's not quite the same now is it?"

The camera shows Marco Bartoli and the pilot, Fabio, talking to each other in the plane's cockpit.

Marco Bartoli replies: "Someday you will get a speeding ticket for that tongue, Fabio."

"Hey, it's just a gut feeling. But maybe you are wrong to look there.", Fabio says.

Marco Bartoli does not like how Fabio implied about a possiblity of a mistake. Marco Bartoli punches Fabio into his stomach, asking "Is your belief so fragile?"

As Fabio falls forward by the force of Marco's puch, he pushes the controls of the plane causing it to pitch forward and making the engine sound a bit worrying. At the luggage compartment Lara tumbles as a crate falls down on her.

"Relax... Breath deep" Marco continues, pulling Fabio up from the plane's controls. Fabio quickly grabs the controls.

"The gut, Fabio, has no more direction than a simple 'through and out'. Honest perhaps, but not enlightened." Marco says. Lara manages to get up and approaches the ladder leading to the cockpit to hear more.

Marco continues: "When my father left when I was a boy, he confided to me that he was enlightened... Beckoned by something greater than impulse. He possessed the Seraph, but he was just a disciple in this design, his death plotting a path to be sought by the one: his son. You understand? Have faith, Fabio, not gut-rot. We are searching the right place."

Fabio quickly replies: "I know it. I believe it, Marco." Marco is content that they've managed to reach an agreement, saying "Good."

Lara starts to approach the the ladder even more when Marco yells down from above "Eros, have you..." Startled by being noticed Lara drops down and draws her pistols, aiming up at Bartoli. Bartoli'a voice trails off as he notices Lara: "...fixed that rail yet?"

Lara begins to back away, but a Fiamma Nera Brawler with a wrench sneaks up from behind.

"Sí!" Eros answers as he knocks Lara unconscious with the wrench.
