A Demo is usually a single level, or part of a level, that should demonstrate what the game will be like.

Game Developers mostly release these demos a few weeks before the full game is released. A demo serves as promotional and preview material and for the developer and helps the PC gamer to find out if his/her hardware is compatible.

Here's a (partial) list of the Tomb Raider Levels, that served as demo:

Tomb Raider

Tomb Raider II

Tomb Raider III

Lost Artefact

The Last Revelation

Tomb Raider Legend

PS2 Version released in the German OPM on March 10th 2006

Tomb Raider Underworld

Tomb Raider (2013)

Tomb Raider (2013) does not have a downloadable demo. There were publicly playable levels at conventions:

  • E3 2015 Syria Demo
See Syria Demo Impressions for more information.
Expanded at the end by a water and float puzzle.
A more combat centred demo. Lara has to fight a lot Trinity soldiers.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

This demo was first playable during the Reveal Events in London, Montreal, and LA that were held on 26 April 2018. It was later again used at several Community Events and games shows around the world. A step-by-step analysis con be found in tombraidergirl's blog.
