The Holy Scriptures are artifacts found in the level Underneath the Sphinx in The Last Revelation. They're needed in the final level, Temple of Horus, to be placed onto their pedestals that surround the statue of Horus before arranging the Armour of Horus.
A total of four Holy Scriptures are found in one trapped room in the end of the level Underneath the Sphinx. Without the scriptures it's not possible to finish the game.
