The rolling spike ball is a trap in The Last Revelation. It is a modified version of the Rolling Ball, only with spikes.
Like with any boulder-like trap they are only dangerous if Lara gets caught underneath them, so get out of the way quickly.
There is also another type of spike ball, you can find it under Dangling Spike Ball.
