The Backflip is one of the basic Jumps in the Classic Tomb Raider Games. By pressing Jump and down Lara will perform a backflip.
It is useful for getting away from enemies quickly. If you keep shooting while hopping or flipping back you will often be able to beat non-gun-wielding enemies without taking too much damage.
