Calcutta is a location Lara visits in the original Tomb Raider and its remake Tomb Raider Anniversary.
It is a city in India.
Tomb Raider
At the beginning of Tomb Raider, in the year 1997, Lara is sitting in the lobby of the Imperial Hotel reading a book when her long-time foe Larson Conway approaches her with an offer from Jacqueline Natla.
Tomb Raider Anniversary
In the remake the events are pretty much the same, except Lara is reading her father's diary, and the year of the events is 1996.
